| Workshop on National tuberculosis control opened | | | JAMMU, MAY 01 Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma today inaugurated 2-day workshop on National Tuberculosis Control Programme, organized by the State TB Control Society at Chest Diseases Hospital, Jammu today. All the District Tuberculosis Officers and other para medicos attended the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sharma said that tuberculosis is now absolutely curable disease with latest improvised drugs and timely treatment. The Minister simultaneously issued instructions to the staff to adopt new methodology on account of preservation and management of T.B. drugs as per the guidelines of experts. The Minister was informed that the workshop is meant for focusing attention on proper management of stores of Anti-TB drugs in all the District T.B. Centres. The objective of this workshop is that there should neither shortage of drugs nor they should go waste by virtue of expiry. The team from Central TB Division, New Delhi i.e. strategic alliance for drug management expected to attend the 2-day workshop. Among others, the function was attended by Director Health Services, Dr. Jasbir Singh, Principal Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr. Mumtaz Goni, HOD CD Hospital, Dr. Rajinder Singh and a team of experts from Delhi comprises Dr. Goutam Nath, Dr. Sanjay Rasgotra and Dr. Ritu Thusu.
