| Qazi asks SFC employees to be tools of making it a more profitable unit | | | Srinagar, May-01 Minister for Forests, Environment, Housing and Urban Development Qazi Mohammed Afzal who is also Chairman of State Forest Corporation, on the eve of Labour Day has said that the protection of labour right is essential for improving the living standard of the working class besides stabilizing the economy of the state. He said that in the present context of changes in economic order the work force has assumed significance to ensure over all development. Qazi Afzal was addressing a gathering of State Forest Corporation employees here today to observe the day. He said that it is the human capital in the form of work force that propells and engineers the economic stability in any state adding that labour class has been instrumental in changing fate of the society. He said that human capital in any form especially work force is the backbone of the economic revolution. With a shift from agriculture economy to corporate economy the labour class has been of vital importance also due to industrial revolution, Qazi said and added that the government is of the view to protect and safe guard the rights of labours and ensure minimum basis to them. The minister appealed the employees of all public sector units especially State Forest Corporation to keep in mind that deserving rights means to perform duties with utter dedication and honesty. He said that right without duties and vice versa are propose less unless there is no co-relation between the two. Qazi Afzal asked the employees of SFC to work for making the corporation more profitable that will help increase incentives and rights to them. Referring to the demands put forth by the Corporation, Qazi Afzal said that various demands including enhancement in leave salary, TA, COLA, Regularization of promotions and promotion INSITU have been approved recently in the Board of Directors Meeting held at Jammu. He assured them that other pending genuine demands would be looked into. Former Managing Director, SFC and Member of BOD Mr A. R Wani, Managing Director SFC Mr Aijaz Ahmed Bhat, President All Jammu and Kashmir State Forest Corporation Employees Coordination and Welfare Committee Mr Bashir Ahmed Bhat, representatives of various Trade Unions, also spoke on the occasion. Among others, Chief Conservator of Forests Mr Abdul Razaq and senior officers and representatives of various trade unions were present on the occasion.
