Woman pays `Supari' to get her husband eliminated

Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed to have busted a module of Lashker-e-Toiba by arresting over a dozen Over Ground Workers of the militant group, who were allegedly involved in number of militancy related incident including the grenade attack at the residence of Chairman Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
A police spokesman said that investigation also revealed that that a local woman paid ` supari' to the module for killing her husband which indicates criminalization of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Those arrested have been identified as Tariq Ahmad alias Mamu alias Farhat son of Abdul Ahad of Sultanpora, Sumbal, Abdul Rashid Janda alias Arshad son of Abdul Aziz resident of Khanyar, Tariq Ahmad Wani son of Muhammad Akbar resident of Submal, Mohsin Mir alias Akbar son of Mansoor Mir resident of Soura, Liyaqat Ahmad Mir son of Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Habak, Jameel Ahmad Ganai son of Mohd Khalil of Chanderhama, Pattan Mehraj-ud-Din Kumar son of Muhammad Rarnzan of Khanyar, Nazir Ahmad Ganai son of Sonaullah of Khanyar, Showkat Ahmad Ganai son of Ghulam Muhammad of Palhallan, Pattan, Shabir Ahmad Tramboo son of Abdul Aziz of Khanyar, Feroz Ahmad Malik son of Asadullah of Palhallan Pattan and Abdul Majid Rather son of Ali Mohd of Chanderhama.
Giving details of the breakthrough, the spokesman said that the Srinagar police busted the module which was working directly under the command of Abu Tahir, a Pakistani commander of LeT (incharge of North Kashmir and reportedly operating from some where in District Baramulla).
The investigations carried out by Police revealed that this module was responsible for the killings of policemen, police sources and political activists besides, lobbing grenades at public places, he added.
The Pakistani militant was also using the module for identifying and surveying the possible places for suicidal attacks known as Fidayeen attacks, the spokesman said adding one of the task assigned to the module was to attack the residence of Moulvi Umar Farooq, which it carried on January 15, 2007 by hurling a grenade.
The spokesman further claimed that the OGWs besides having connections with LeT was also working for Hizbul Mujahideen, under the direction of its District Commander Zahoor alias Firdous.
"It is a new trend among the OGWs by way of which they are not only getting paid by LeT but also by the HM out-fit", he added.
During the investigation, the spokesman claimed, it was further revealed that a woman Rafiqa had conspired with the members of this group to get her husband Manzoor eliminated. "There is a strong suspicion that this woman had got her first husband eliminated in the same way", he said adding, the woman has also been arrested and was being questioned.
Large quantity of arms and ammunition including 3 AK Rifles, 10 AK magazines, 100 rounds, 4 Pouches, 4 pistols and 20 hand grenades were recovered from the arrested militants.
