| Gupta for tough stand against Pakistan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | AUGSUT 7 Predicting more trouble from theoretic of Pakistan, the former Union Minster and a senior leader of the BJP Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has emphasized the need for serious attention to deal with the menace of cross border terrorism and the aggressive designs of military ruler of the country. Addressing the party activists at Bani, a remote area of the state in Kathua District, Prof. Gupta said that it has been a part of the history that whenever Pakistan was under pressure on different issues, its leadership resorted to extreme postures. Now after the blasts at Mumbai as also in this state, Pakistan has met with global condemnation but to divert the world attention from the situation, Paksitan as again resorted to old game of humiliating Indian diplomats in an uncivilized manner, he added and said that situation needed skill and tough measures to tackle serious situation arising out of this onslaught. He further said that repots about fresh infiltration of highly motivated and trained terrorists, could also be the indicators about things to develop in this state as also elsewhere. Prof. Gupta was highly critical of the policies and functioning of the Congress led coalitions, both at the center and in Jammu & Kashmir alleged that there approach of appeasement to fundamentalism and softness to deal with the perpetrators of terrorism, have led to increased violence and aggressiveness on part of Pakistan as also secessionists. He asserted that these governments have proved not only a big failure on all fonts but also led to more problems for the people. In this regard, Prof. Gupta pointed out that because of the soft to approach towards militancy, the extremists have been emboldened to sneak in the ranks of police and also in the troops. The scarcity of drinking water, electricity and awful conditions of educational institutions as also that of medicare, are the burning examples of the said situation. Accusing the ruling leader of being insensitive to the situation, he pointed out that lawyers in Jammu are agitating fro a simple demand for about forty days but claimants f good governance are immune the problems facing the common masses and other concerned.
