| JU make impact in ACU at Toronto, Canada | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | AUGSUT 7 The Inaugural Global Conference of Association of Commonwealth universities (ACU) held at Toronto, Canada from 17-19 July 2006 was attended by more than 120 delegates from over 22 countries across the world representing various universities of Commonwealth nations including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, U.K, West Indies, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Africa etc. The objective of the conference was to develop strategies based on knowledge of international best practice and cooperation to bridge alliances amongst institutions of higher education across the world. Media Advisor to Vice Chancellor Jammu University said here today than Ms. Taranum Nasar Khan, Assistant Registrar, represented University of Jammu. As a respondent to the key note address of David C. Kistle, Senior Vice president, Padilla Speer Beardsley Inc., US. Khan talked about PR and Marketing perspective in relation to India with special focus on University of Jammu. The title of the presentation was University of Jammu: Local to Global. A Panel Session titled ‘The way forward: Working Together to mutual Benefit’, was also held as the last session to discuss opportunities emerging out of the main themes of the conference, and ideas for further collaboration. The conference was designed for executives working in the field of PF. This conference shared international best practice and explored how institutions could maximize their impact at home and overseas and include practical examples of institutions trying to build and develop successful PR by embracing new opportunities. Participation of faculty and officer is such like events signify the efforts and steps taken towards realization of the vision envisaged by Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor for University of Jammu, the ultimate destination remaining a global platform.
