| Srinagar, Sept 1 : More than 200 youths, who were appointed as teachers by Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB), today staged a dharna here, alleging that they were not being allowed to join their duties.Holding placards and banner, the youths, including women, assembled in front of the office of Director Education near here, raising slogans in favour of their demands. They alleged that SSRB, after conducting examination and interview issued orders, appointed them as teachers four months ago, But, they said, the education department did not allow them to join their duties for unknown reasons. However, last week some students, who were not selected, got a stay from a court. Alleging that education department deliberately caused a delay of four months and did not allow them to join their duties to allow some people, who failed to qualify, to get stay from a court. They threatened to intensify their agitation if government did not approach the court and get the stay lifted soon. |
