Srinagar, Sept 1: Contrary to the figure 15000 yatri visited the Machail temple in Padder area of Kishtwar District given by the Jammu and Kashmir Law and Parliamentary Affairs minister Mir Saifullah on the floor of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly couple of days ago while rejecting the demand of framing of Machail Matta Shrine Board on the pattern of Amarnath Shrine Board and Vashnu Devi Shrine Board demanded by JKNPP MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia.
As per the press statement issued by Yatra officer for Machail Yatra, over 1.50 lakh pilgrims from different parts of the state visited Machail from different parts of the state and outside in this year in between August 1, 2014 till the yatra comes to end on 27th of August 2014, while the number was very high as huge number of Yatries also visited the temple in the month of June and July. As per the figures available with "Early Times", record number of 22490 pilgrims visited the temple on 21st of August 2014 and 17237 Yatries visited the temple next day.
The statement issued by the Yatra officer further stated that Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan also visited the Machail village and extended its gratitude to the villagers for their cooperation in successful conduct of the yatra.
DC Kishtwar also congratulated all the District officers of Kishtwar for their marvelous services and contribution in the yatra.
It is pertinent to mention that Jammu and Kashmir law minister Mir Saifullah while denouncing the demand of JKNPP MLA regarding constitution of the Machail Matta Shrine Board wrongly quote the government official figure in which minister claims that only 15000 Yatries visited the temple, added that for 15000 Yatries the government was not in position to constitute the Shrine Board and termed it as not appropriate on part of the MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia for pressing the demand.
