| Dr Romesh reviews development works in Poonch | | | POONCH, MAY 03 About Rupees 58 crore have been spent under annual plan in the border district of Poonch on various developmental schemes during last financial year The information has been given at a district officers meeting held here yesterday with Minister of State for Public Health Engineering and Industries Dr. Romesh Sharma in chair, who is on a four day tour to the border district. The meeting was informed that 99 percent expenditure has been registered during last financial year under annual plan. The meeting informed that Rs 10 crore have been spent on construction and renovation of roads to improve road connectivity in the border district. Similarly, Rs 5. 70 crore have been expended on agriculture, while an amount of Rs 3. 28 crore have been spend on Rural Development works. Likewise, a cumulative sum of Rs 8 crore has been utilized under BADP and TSP. The Minister called upon the officers to pay special attention on improvement of road connectivity and other social infrastructure. He said every development work should be need based and beneficial to maximum number of population. Later, the Minister visited Surankote and Mandi tehsils and listened to the problems of the people in these areas.
