Over Rs 9.96 sanctioned under SSA

KATRA, MAY 03
An amount of Rs 9.96 crore has been expended for infrastructural development and providing teachers to various schools of Reasi district under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan so far since the inception of the schemes. The works included 3 Block Resources Centres, 22 Government Middle School buildings, 124 Government primary School buildings, 21 Cluster Resource Centres and 205 additional class rooms in different government schools.
This was informed by Chief Education Officer Udhampur, Mr Vinay Mohan Raina.
He further said that under this scheme 1503 teachers have been engaged which include 199 as 3rd teacher, RET 627, Junior Engineer, Education Volunteers in EGS centres.
He also briefed that assessment camps for OWSN children were also arranged at Arnas, Chinkah and Reasi, in which 149 children were benefited.
He further disclosed that 13 Higher Secondary Schools, 26 High Schools, 142 Middle Schools, 360 Primary Schools and 521 EGS Centres are functioning in the district Reasi benefiting 28238 girls in the age group of 6-14 years and 34313 boys of same age group, 26012 female students.
