| K.C. public school organizes Maths Week | | | Jammu | May 3 K.C. Public School had organized Maths week from 26th April to 1st May and during the week long celebrations various activities were organized, on the eve of 85th Death Anniversary of Great Indian Mathematicians Sreenivas Ramanujam. The celebration started on 26th April with a seminar, in which students of classes VIII and IX spoke on the topic ‘Life History and Contribution of Ramanujam in the field of Mathematics’ and ‘Role of Mathematics in Present Scenario’. A debate on the topic ‘Mathematics is the Key to success’ was also organized in which students of classes VI to X participated. A Rangoli competition was held on 30th April in which about 150 students participated where the students displayed the mathematical talent by making different Rangolis with the help of mathematical shapes, figures and symbols in different colours. On the concluding day ‘Inter House Quiz Competition was organized in which 4 teams from different houses comprising of 4 students each participated. Dr. A.P. Singh, H.O.D. Deptt. of Mathematics, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on this occasion. In his speech Dr. A.P. Singh appreciated the efforts made by Principal and Deptt. of Mathematics in organizing all these activities to make maths easy and interesting subject. At the end he distributed prizes among the winners and finally vote of thanks were presented by Parmod Sharma HOD Maths, K.C. Public School.
