| 130 Army personnel pledge organs | | |

A blood and organ donation camp was organised at Base Hospital, New Delhi today under the aegis of Army Wives and Welfare Association (AWWA). This Camp was basically organised to promote awareness among the all ranks regarding usefulness of donating blood and organs.
The camp was inaugurated by Vandana Oberoi, President Delhi Area AWWA. Major General KJS Oberoi, General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area alongwith other senior officers donated blood and pledged to donate organs.
The camp was a huge success as nearly 220 personnel donated blood. About 130 army personnel and their wives pledged to donate their organs during this camp. Along with the blood and organ donation camp a health education campaign regarding blood donation and its benefits was also carried out during the camp, said a release.
