| BJP express concern over encroachment of state land in Kathua | | | JAMMU | MAY 5 The BJP state president Ashok Khajuria has expressed concern over the move of a particular community to occupy the state as well as forest land in Kathua district to change its demographic profile of the region. He said this is not the first time that the members of a particular community have attempted to occupy the state land in connivance with successive governments in the state have been encouraging this trend, since long. Reacting to the assertions that those who attempted to occupy the state land in Kathua district are migrants from Doda, he said. Khajuria said that there is not a single Muslim family till date has migrated any where from Doda district and that it was the Hindus and Hindus alone who migrated from Doda from time to time to escape the militants wrath. He appreciated the role of MP, Lal Singh for what he did to get the encroachers of the state land evicted and urged politicians cutting across party lines to defeat the game plan of the government which has been encouraging a particular section of society to grab the government land in the Hindu majority areas of Jammu province in order to change the demography. The state BJP chief warned the authorities of serious consequences in case they continue to encourage this particular community to occupy the state land for purely communal and electoral considerations.
