| Nomads deputation call on Sadhotra | | |
JAMMU | MAY 5 A deputation of victims of police highhandedness of Kathua met Provincial president, National Conference (NC) Ajay Sadhotra and narrated the Kathua incident which happened the other day. The deputation informed Sadhotra that they are nomads and have been living in Deras at the land in question for three months every year since the last thirty years. According to press release, deputation said district administration used excessive force on the behest of Congress, Member Parliament and they were badly beaten and their live stocks was also lost in the scuffle. Sadhotra, after giving a patient hearing to the deputationists strongly condemned the lathi charge and talked to the Chief Secretary of the State C. Phunsong and asked for judicial enquiry into the whole episode so that truth come to surface and the guilty be punished. He assured the deputation that the matter has been taken up with the Chief Secretary and hoped that Government shall order enquiry. He also asked them to keep cool and calm in order to maintain communal harmony and frustrate the nefarious designs of such forces that are bent upon to create communal frenzy.
