| Army battle school imparts specialised combat training to JKP cops | | |
Jammu, May 05 417 Jammu and Kashmir police personnel on Saturday completed their four-week-long combat training module at Corps Battle School (CBS) Bhalra in Doda district. The aim of imparting special training to state police personnel is to prepare them in advance to tackle anti – militancy operations as independent teams and launching joint operations with Army in militantcy infested areas.
According to defence spokesman, 13 SI’s and 404Constablesparticipated in the month long trainingconducted under an officer of the rank of Lt Col and supported by specially trained staff of 05 JCOs, 20 NCOs instructors. The training was organized to streamline the state forces to counter subsidised threat of terrorists in the wake of improvement in situation,defence spokesman said. The training package was mainly focused on covering of counter insurgency operations by small teams. Buddy pairs were organized in sections and platoon entities under permanent company commanders of JK Police by suitably mixing the diversity of talent for the course. The major focus during training was kept on specialized training in CI Ops which included minor tactics, patrolling/ambush, cordon and search operation and joint operations with the Army,defence spokesman said.
