| DM prohibits ferrying of bovine animals | | |
UDHAMPUR, MAY-05
To check illegal transportation of bovine animals allegedly for slaughtering purposes, the District Magistrate, Udhampur, Mr. O.P. Kalandria has prohibited the transportation of bovine animals such as cows, ox, buffaloes and bulls etc. outside the territorial jurisdiction of district Udhampur with immediate effect. The order would remain in force for a period of two months unless rescinded earlier.
The prohibition order has been necessitated in view of annoyance caused to a large section of the people of district Udhampur who want total halt over this menace of ferrying bovine animals for slaughtering purpose.
Those who seek prior permission of the District Magistrate after completion of all formalities would only be allowed to transport such animals. Departmental agencies carrying the cattle for departmental purposes would also be permitted.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, Ramban and Reasi and Sub Divisional Magistrates of the district have also been informed to keep a check over this peril.
