| DDC chairs NRHM meeting in Doda | | | DODA, MAY 05 An amount of over Rs. 746.07 lakh were spent cumulative on as many as 70 building construction works under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) Expansion Programme in 10 medical blocks of Doda district during the last financial year against allocation of Rs. 1231.88 lakh. Of this, Rs. 276.12 lakh spent under district sector on construction of 16 building, Rs. 274.58 lakh for 19 works under state plan, Rs. 110.13 lakh under NABARD plan for one building, Rs. 36.99 lakh under RSVY on 9 primary health centre buildings and Rs. 48.26 lakh on construction of 25 Allopathic Dispensary buildings in the district including Kishtwar and Ramban This was disclosed in a joint meeting of officers of the medical department and engineering sector convened here the other day by the District. Development Commissioner, Mr. Saurabh Bhagat, to review the achievement of the National Rural Health Mission Programme implementation in the district during the year of 2006-07. The meeting was called to discuss the issues related with the NRHM programme, status of Rogi Kalyan Samities, status of ASHA’s, physical & financial achievements of Janana Surajsha Yojna, United Funds for Sub- Centers, village health committees, role of ICDS, Panchyati Raj in the NRHM programme, issuing the detailed and modified guidelines to the field functionaries about the NHRM schemes and RCH, phase-II besides construction of the buildings for CHC Banihal, Gandoh, Batote under IPHS norms. While deliberating the physical and financial achievements made in National Rural Health Mission programme during the year 2006-07, the meeting was informed that as many as 2099 beneficiaries were covered under JNY scheme during the year through the network of 733 ASHAs in the district and an amount of over Rs. 9.10 lakh were spent on the various components of the scheme during the year. In addition 130 dias trained, 681 out reach sessions held, 144 Nutrition demon rations done, 7 sensitization/ orientation camps organized, 124 OT camps held besides conducting training programmes for doctors, staff nurses, ANMS, supervisors, FMPHW during the year. Addressing the meeting at the conclusion the DDC impressed the participants to ensure full coverage of the targeted population under NHRM and carry the task in synergic manner with a true missionary zeal so that the benefit of the scheme percolate at the gross root level in the district. Earlier the DDC had an interaction meeting with a group of ASHA,s in his office.
