| SW Deptt organizes awareness camp | | |

Social Welfare Department, Doda today organized an awareness camp in town hall Doda which was presided by MLA Doda, Mr Abdul Majid Wani Doda and District Development Commissioner, Doda, Mr. Sourabh Bhagat was chief guest on the occasion.
This awareness camp was part of sustained efforts put by the District Social Welfare Department, Doda to create mass awareness among the general public and educate them about the programmes and welfare schemes being implemented by the department for their all round social and economic development.
The camp was also attended by the district officers of Horticulture, Agriculture, Rural Development, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Health, ICDS, Chief Planning Officer, field functionaries of the department, besides large number of women flock of Doda tehsil and adjoining areas.
Experts from departments delivered lectures on the topic of agriculture horticulture, livestock, poultry keeping, be-hives keeping mushroom cultivation, to enhance the economic status of the rural people under various schemes implemented by the department in the district
While speaking Mr. Wani appreciated the efforts of the social welfare department for organizing awareness camp and stressed for such camps in all remote areas of the district. He said that the social welfare department is like a refugee place for the destitute and downtrodden who pin their hopes for substance on the department.
He asked the Government functionaries to reach out needy people at their doorstep to solve their problems in their areas and ensure that the benefit of each welfare scheme percolate to the actual beneficiaries.
District Development Commissioner also spoke and asked the functionaries of SWD and ICDS to ensure the proper utilization of the funs earmarked under these sector in the district. He warned that dereliction and lapses can not be spared in proper implementation of the welfare schemes. He asked the gathering to have close liaison with the officials of various level to ensure transparency in the functioning of each department in the district.
At the end mementoes were presented to the MLA and the DDC by the District Social Welfare Officer as token of goodwill from the Social Welfare Department, Doda.
