| NCP demands more Assembly, Parliament seats for Jammu region | | |

National Congress Party General Secretary Dr Bhai Randeep Singh Parihar has demanded creation of 60 Assembly seats and five Lok Sabha seats for Jammu region in view of its area and the population, besides setting up five new districts and 20 tehsils.
Addressing a party meeting here today, Parihar stressed the need for peaceful resolution of ‘Jammu problem’ and has urged the Prime Minister to hold a round table conference with Jammu leadership.
The NCP leader also demanded renaming of Agriculture University as Baba Jitoo University, 50 per cent representation to Jammu region in Civil Secretariat and launching of 24 hour national channel in Jammu and renaming Radio Kashmir Jammu as Radio Jammu.
Parihar made an appeal to all the political parties, students and workers to come forward and unite for the cause of Jammu region.
The meeting, among others, was attended by Om Prakash Shastry, Youginder Zutshi, Sandeep Singh Parihar, Rahil Singh Chowan, Sanjay Bhan and Ajay Charak.
