| Ex-servicemen rally held at Akhnoor | | |

Akhnoor based Crossed Swords Division organized an Ex-servicemen Rally at Sangha Auditorium today to ascertain problems being faced by them and to disseminate information of various welfare schemes being run under the aegis of State/Central Governments. The rally was attended by nearly 600 ex-servicemen from Akhnoor, Jourian and Pallanwalla.
Inaugurating the rally, Major General AK Malik, General Officer Commanding Crossed Swards Division, emphasized the need for continued efforts for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their children.
Grievances cell was also set up to ascertain problems being faced by the participants and the Ex-servicemen were apprised about various welfare issues being taken up with the State Government. Details pertaining to pension benefits and related documentation were explained to the gathering, a Defence handout said..
