Jammu, May 05 A group of 35 students and three teachers from remote areas of Samba and Kathua districts left for educational tour to Amritsar, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, Dehradun and Chandigarh. The tour, organized by Rising Star Corps under Operation Sadbhavana, was flagged off from Mamun Military Cantonment by General Officer Commanding, Gurj Division today. During the tour the students will get an opportunity to meet the President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Chief of the Army Staff, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Command and will be hosted by other senior Army and civil personalities during the visit. They will be shown the premier defence institution like the Indian Military Academy and RIMC, and will visit various places like Taj Mahal, National Museum, Rail Museum, Wagah Border, Rock Garden, Delhi Metro Train to witness the nation’s rich heritage, traditions and development. According to a Defence release the students will pay obeisance at Dargah in Ajmer, Karni Mata Mandir in Bikaner and Golden Temple in Amritsar. They will also visit various places of historical importance like Red Fort in Delhi and Bikaner Fort in Bikaner, Hawa Mahal in Jaipur, Fatehpur Sikri and Taj Mahal in Agra.
