| People are being misled on Demilitarization issue: PDP | | | Jammu May 5 Cautioning the Governor of the State and others who oppose the demilitarization stand of the People’s Democratic Party, the party without naming any individual underscored that those who are opposing it should not create confusion over the issue keeping in view the union government has established three Committees to review the situation. Irked over the remarks made by the Governor of State on the demilitarization, the Jammu PDP leadership here today stated that people are being misled over demilitarization by certain elements. Addressing a press conference at party head office here today, Rangil Singh senior vice president PDP flanked with the other senior party functionaries said that time and again the statements are pouring from various sides about the demilitarization of the state. He said, “ these statements are not only confusing but also are misleading the people.’ He appreciated the party leadership for its sustained and persistent effort to get the union government’s attention towards this genuine issue and getting three high level committees to review the situation in the state about sending the troops back to their barracks. Exuding his faith in the better and conducive atmosphere for the peace and normalcy in the state and break in the thaw between the two neigbbouring nations, Singh recalled his visit to Heart-2-Heart Talks at New Delhi and said the healthy and overwhelming response from the other side was the ‘real indicator of the latest development.’ PDP representative to Heart-2-Heart Talks, said that participants including Ex Prime Minister PoK Sardar Abdul Qayyom Khan and others pin pointed that terrorism has become an industry these days. “And no one can control this and thus there is a sabotage to peace initiatives now and then, they asserted. Quoting the representatives from PoK who stated that there is no place for Aazadi but we need to cooperate and join hands with each other for better economy of the two sides instead of confronting each other. However Singh said the spite and animosity of past 60 years wouldn’t be vanish in one day thus time will play a vital factor in the changing situation and we are heading towards a better way. Prominent those who accompanied their senior vice present included Daman Bhasin general secretary PDP, Ved Mahajan MLC, Shanti Devi MLA, Baldev Singh Salathia district president (Rural) and Balbir Singh youth leader of the party. Concluding the press conference general secretary of the party announced that Mohammed Shrief Malik a senior JKNPP leader from Marwah expressing his faith in party leadership has joined the PDP today and party cadre welcomed him with open arms.
