| Tight security in Srinagar on durbar move eve | | | Srinagar, May 6 A grenade attack on the youth Congress rally in Anantnag on Sunday afternoon ahead of opening of Durbar move offices on Monday morning have alerted men in uniform already keeping a tight vigil in and around Srinagar to ensure incident free first day for civil secretariat employees. According to official sources,tight security arrangements have already been made around the Civil Secretariat and other vital installations in and around Srinagar in view of the reopening of the durbar move offices after a week long break.The offices were closed down in the winter capital as part of the biannual durbar move on April 28 and will now reopen on May 07. A senior police officer told Kashmir Independent Press on Sunday,the area around the Civil Secretariat has been sanitised to avoid any attempt of disturbance by suspected militants. He said, all the areas from where militants can hit the Secretariat have been sanitized and area domination patrols are being carried out as per routine.He said restrictions have been imposed on the movement of traffic on the main road passing by the Civil Secretariat. Meanwhile, state police force and para military forces have been deployed on rooftops of several important buildings and patrolling and frisking at the checking points have been intensified keeping in view previous years experience in mind when abortive bids were made by various militant organisations to register their presence in Kashmir. Security has been further beefed up across important buildings such as Raj Bhawan, official residences of Chief Minister and his ministerial colleagues, Doordarshan and Radio station buildings etc and several other central govt and state govt offices.
