| Bimla urges upon women to take benefit of Govt. schemes | | |
Jammu | May 6
A public meeting of Women’s wing of National Conference (NC) was held at Nagrota under the presidentship of block president, Rameshwar Dutt.
During the meeting, Bimla Luthra, president women wing, Jammu Province was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, she said that National Conference gave political reservation to the women in the assembly as well in the local bodies.
She said it was Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who reserved 50 % seats for the girl students only in selection of medical seats in Medical College and committed to give due reservation to the women in the Assembly in future. She also called upon the women folk to take benefit of various government schemes meant for them.
Ex-MLC’s, Th. Kashmira Singh, and Haji Mohammad Hussain, also addressed the gathering Satwant Kour, Rita Gupta, Suman, Surishta and others were also present.
On the occasion gift packs were distributed among the children by Bimla Luthra and Th. Kashmira Singh.
