| NCP seeks resolution of problems | | |
Jammu, May 6 Nationalist Congress Party, Gen-Secy Dr Randeep Singh Parihar has demanded the peaceful resolution of Jammu-problem and urged the Govt. of India to hold Round Table Conference chaired by Prime-Minister. He has said that NCP is the first political party in J&K and in India recognizing Jammu as a Political problem and it should be solved politically. If discrimination against Jammuites continues, it will ultimately create more serious trouble for the government of India, said Dr. Parihar, adding the demand for creation of 60 assembly seats and 5 Lok Sabha seats for Jammu region. He has strongly condemned B.J.P and Panther’s demand for equalizing Vidhan Sabha seats for Jammu and for Kashmir region. Dr. Parihar said that area and population of Jammu region is more than Kashmir and this is the reason that NCP has demanded 60 Vidhan Sabha seats and 5 Lok Sabha seats for Jammu Region. He has further demanded the creation of 5 New Districts and 20 New Tehils for Jammu Region. Prominent among those who attended the press conference they included Youginder Zutshi, Pt. Om Parkash Shastry, Sanjay Bhan, Rakesh Bharat, Rahil Singh Chowan. Om Parkash Bhagat, Sandeep Singh Parihar, Jagdish Singh Banyal and others. Following demands also raised like renaming Radio Kashmir Jammu as Radio Jammu, Agricultural University of Jammu as Sh. Baba Jitto Agricultural University of Jammu. 50% representation to Jammu Region in Civil-Sectt and establishment of JAMBHU-CHANNEL in Jammu as a National Channel of 24-hours like Kashmir Channel.
