Jammu May 7 District Pradesh Congress Committee (Urban) convened its meeting to discuss various issues related to the party and deliberated upon the measures to resolve the problems of the people in the district. Ex MLA and district president (U) Om Chopra chaired this meeting and took stock of the various issues highlighted by the party activists and district functionaries. District president, Om Chopra expressed concerns over the complaint that MLAs in their respective constituencies had failed to properly communicate with district/block presidents, which has sent wrong signals to the voters about the party. Other measures highlighted and suggested during the proceedings included need of close coordination between party MLAs and basic representing unit of the party, one employment to one family to curb unemployment, MLA to be instructed to acknowledged the dignity of the party workers, general secretary of party to accompany the aggrieved to various concerned departments, Social Welfare Department should be asked to clear the pending cases of pension, augment supply of drinking water and a monthly meeting to be scheduled to address the grievances of aggrieved be held with the concerned departments.
