| Police public meeting held by SSP Doda | | |

Today a police puplic meeting was held in Doda in which a large number of people were present. The meeting was chaired by Manohar Singh, SSP Doda held at Goha Marmat area in which 700 to 800 persons including Nambardar's, Chowkidar's, Sarpanch's, Panch's, respectable and parents / relatives of active militants of all the hamlets of Marmat and adjoining villages. Participants put forth some grievances relating to police department which were sorted out on spot. The parents and relatives of active militants of the area present in the meeting were asked to motivate their wards to shun
the path of militancy and lead a normal life.
The Surrender Policy was explained to them in detail and they were apprised of the benefits being given to the surrendered militants and they were assured that all benefits will be provided to surrendered militants as per surrender policy. The participants extended full co-operation to Police. They told that due to their personal efforts there was no recruitment in militant cadres from Marmat, area for the last three years.
The people were advised to be vigilant against the nefarious designs of ANEs and help the Police in combating terrorism and normal crime.
People appreciated the role of
police and expressed satisfaction on the general working of Doda Police and extended all possible help to Police from their side. They thanked SSP Doda for holding such police-public meetings.
