| 3 killed, 4 wounded in road accidents across Kashmir | | | Srinagar May 7 —At least three persons have died and four others sustained injuries in various road mishaps across Kashmir regions, since last 24 hours. A Maruti car hit and injured one Ghulam Mohi-u-din Dar son of Ali Muhammad of Qaimooh near Nayeebasti Qaimooh, under the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam, early this morning. The fourty-two years old Ghulam was rushed to SKIMS but he succumbed to his injuries on way, a police spokesman said a woman died when a truck hit a motorcycle at Malpora on Jammu Srinagar National Highway. Police said that a truck hit a motorcycle, 6950/ JK01C driven by Fayaz Ahmad Wani of Joggi Lanker Rainawari, Srinagar. Fayaz and his son Asrar were critically injured in the accident while his wife Rafiqa Banoo succumbed to her injuries. Police said that the driver of the truck, identified as Sukdev Singh son of Gopal Singh resident of Ramban fled away from the spot along with the offending vehicle. One person, Ghulam Nabi Shah Son of Ghulam Rasool Shah of Takanwari, who was injured in a road accident with a Tata 407 vehicle at Hazratbal yesterday, succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura, today. His dead body has been handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. Two women, Sakeela Begam w/o Nazir Ahmad Khan and Sámi Jan D/o Ghulam Ahmad Bhat residents of Kawoosa were riding a motorcycle driven by Nazir Ahmad Khan S/o Fateh Khan when they met with the accident. They were critically injured in the mishap and have been hospitalized. |
