JAMMU, Sept 19 : Zonal Project Director, Zone-I, ICAR Dr Prabhu Kumar visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra-Rajouri and Poonch, for assessing functioning of KVKs and also for assessment of losses incurred to the KVK property due to incessant rains and floods. He was accompanied by Dr. K S Risam, Director Extension, SKUAST-Jammu and Dr. Ajmer Singh, Senior Scientist of ZPD- Ludhiana. Dr Kumar is on tour of the Jammu Division to assess the losses caused to the KVKs functioning under jurisdiction of SKUAST-Jammu. The team took stock of the losses incurred to the property of KVKs and prepared a detailed report of the losses. He advised the Programme Coordinator to submit a detailed report of the losses incurred to the property so that the same may be submitted to the higher authorities for its consideration. Interacting with the scientists of KVK, Rajouri, Dr Prabhu Kumar applauded the efforts being made by the KVK team and advised them to put more efforts to bring latest scientific technologies at the door step of farmers of the district. He also stressed to issue proper advisories for flood affected farmers. He also advised KVK to be prepared for coming Rabi season so as to have healthy crops. |
