| Zahida demands restoration of roads, bridges | | | | MENDHAR, Sept 20: District Coordinator Women Wing Poonch PDP Zahida Choudhary today lambasted the PWD, R&B and PMGSY department for delay in opening of highway, links roads and bridges which are washed away or damaged due to flash floods in Mendhar. Zahida said that the district administration is busy in taking meeting to tackle the problems of general public but the employees at tehsil headquarters are not paying heed to the orders of higher officers. The roads links connected to the villages washed in recent rainfall efforts are not made to make them motorable yet by the department of PMGSY and(R&B). The bridges like Harni Nar, Bg Harni, and others small sub bridges of Mankote are washed away and due to this population more than 20000 is suffering a lot as bridge connectivity to panchayats like Harni, Manjari, Nar, Mohra, Gulutha Kandi are lost, she said. Zahida urged the government if the officers are not serious towards their works, government should deal with serious words and they must paid attention to the peoples of twins border district of Rajouri-Poonch immediately. |
