| Brushing aside set norms, ISM Deptt calls aspirants for Dawasaaz (pharmacist) training | | |

Who’s the godfather of the director, ISM is a million dollar question and many in the department feel envious with him for not managing the same mentor for them.
‘The faith in godfather is so strong that nothing can harm him, this man in chair putting aside the basic norms invited aspirants for Dawasaz (Pharmacists) training course in Kathua district, sources said.
However, a letter communicated to the chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Minister for Health and Secretary Health and Medical Education has clearly demanded action against the nominations made for the course of Dawasaaz. This letter alleging mass malpractices within the department has asked the concerned authorities to endevour to the words given to the people by no one else but the chief minister himself about eradication of corruption.
Sources mentioned that this type of things happen only in ISM department as favoritism rules the roost here in sharp contrast to allopathic stream, where the training courses were first advertised, followed by interviews and then the candidates were shortlisted with some being put in waiting lists.
Sources within the department allegedly said that the favouritism and nepotism is rampant in ISM directorate and many have managed to get the nod for said training, while other deserving candidates were left outside. Adding to it the insiders said that the Directorate, ISM by passing the set norms and regulations without any formal advertisement in local news paper called individuals for the said training at its own. They even accused the hierarchy of the department for not calling applications, holding no interviews and finalizing no enlistment of the candidates falling in the criteria merit.
Giving details, sources on proximity told that a letter without mentioning list no and nomination no of candidates, dated 23/03/07 bearing DISM/ADM/DS/2492-95 has been sent to the candidate Bhanu Gour of Kathua. Another of similar kind in the absence of the list and nomination no: bearing reference no DISM/ADM/DS/6563-65 dated 9/01/07 in the name of Atul Paul of Basholi also depicted the same that how could department missed mentioning the list and nomination no to fill while mentioning all details to the candidates. Rajeev Sharma of Billawer and Ankit Kumar Padha also were called for the training under a similar headless letters only mentioning dated of order i.e. DISM/ADM/DS/ 6566-68 dtd; 9/01/07 and DISM/ADM/DS/6569-71 of the same date. Not only these but another pack of Rohit Sharma and Pawan Kumar both from Hiranagar; Bubesh Sharma of Uttri Kathua, Rohit of Randwal Hiranagar and Kuldeep Kumar of Chadwal Kathua n September 2005 were nominated for the said training but all through brushing aside all selection norms.
Without any hesitation the insiders mocked that without a possible manipulator such extreme decisions were not possible.
