J&K floods : Death toll mounts to 284

SRINAGAR, Sept 23 : The death toll in Jammu and Kashmir's ravaging floods has mounted to 284 as four more bodies were found in different parts of the city here on Tuesday.
Srinagar district bore the brunt of the floods in the Valley as 45 bodies have been recovered from the city so far, a police spokesman said.
Nine deaths took place in Kulgam district followed by eight in Anantnag, six in Budgam, four in Pulwama, three in Bandipora while two each in Ganderbal, Shopian and Kupwara.
While 159 bodies have been recovered from flood-hit areas in Jammu division, 44 others, who were washed away in a bus at Rajouri, are feared dead.
