| 4 die, 4 wounded in road mishaps | | | Jammu, May 09 At least four persons die and four others were wounded in separate road accidents across Jammu region during last 24 hours, police said here on Monday. Two persons were killed when a Maruti car (JK02L-1667) skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Raggi Nallah on Jammu-Kishtwar road, this morning. The car was on its way from Doda to Jammu when it met with the accident. On of the deceased was identified as Sidarth Singh Charak resident of Bari Brahmana, while the identification of another, said to be a labourer, was being ascertained. A police spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir that one Muhammad Farooq son of Bashir Ahmed of Jad Reasi died on the spot and another person Ghulam Nabi son of Abdullah of Reasi was wounded when a scooter, they were riding, was hit by a tipper near Bardari, this morning. It was learnt that the police has arrested the accused driver of the offending vehicle and seized the tipper. The injured scooterist was shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment. Meanwhile, three persons were injured when a matador on way from Palma to Chingus met with an accident at Kalidab. The mini-bus was carrying a marriage party when the mishap occurred, the spokesman added. One of the injured, identified as Kamal Kumar son of Anil Ram resident of Chatisgarh at present Narwal Jammu later succumbed to his injuries at GMC Jammu.
