Attempt to meet CM: Docs land in police custody

Over fifty unemployed dental Surgeons were arrested by police after they attempted to meet Jammu and Kashmir chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here today.
The arrested dental doctors were lodged in Khothi Bagh Police station in busy Residency road area, a police officer on the condition of anonymity said.
A Group of unemployed Dental Surgeons marched towards Civil Secretariat to meet Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad early this morning only to end up in police lock up.
Eye witnesses said that as soon as the dental Surgeons reached near Residency road a police party interrupted them and asked to disperse.
However, when the doctors refused to retreat, the police whisked the Surgeons in the vehicles and took them to Khothi Bagh police station.
Police, however, claimed that the doctors were arrested when they violated prohibitory orders around civil secretariat area.
