| PRESIDENT TO FELICITATE MAJ GEN SHASHI BALA | | FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE AWARD | | Jammu, 09 May 2007
Major General (Mrs) Shashi Bala of Army’s Nursing Services is to be felicitated by the prestigious Florence Nightingale award for nursing services by the President, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on Saturday. Major General (Mrs) Shahi Bala is presently the Additional Director General of Military Nursing Serives (MNS) at the Army Headquarters.
She belongs to New Delhi and had her early nursing education in Mumbai. She holds a Masters degree in Nursing. Immediately after joining MNS, she rendered services to the battle casualties of 1971 Indo – Pak War.
She has 37 years nursing experience and has been awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal in the past. She is an eminent researcher, academician and author of various aspects of nursing care, said a PIB (Defence Wing) release.
