| Vigilance produces challan against Irrigation official. | | | SRINAGAR
Today State Vigilance Organisation produced a challan in the court of Special Judge Anti Corruption Kashmir against Shri Mohd. Amin Bhat, chainman working in the office of Collector Land Acquisition, Irrigation and Flood Control Department Srinagar in Case FIR No. 45/2006 P/S VOK. The official was caught red handed while accepting an illegal gratification of Rs.1500/- from the complainant on 30.10.2006.
Case FIR No.45/2006 P/S VOK was registered on the complaint of one Shri Ali Mohd. Bhat S/o Mohd. Akbar R/o Bahu Awantipora alleging that the Chainman demanded illegal gratification for processing his case of compensation pertaining to land acquired by the Irrigation department for Rajpora Irrigation Scheme. An amount of Rs.81800/- was estimated as compensation by the revenue authorities for the said land of the complainant and the file was lying in the office of Collector Land Acquisiton for disbursement. A case was registered in the SVO, and in the course of investigation, vigilance officials laid a successful trap and caught Sh Mohammad Amin Bhat red handed while accepting bribe of Rs.1500/- from the complainant. The tainted money was recovered from the possession of the accused official in presence of independent witnesses. The investigation of the case was completed and after accord of sanction for prosecution by the Govt. the challan of the case was produced in the court of law for judicial determination.
