Mayor distribute cheques among fire victims

A function was held at Lajpat Nagar, Ward No. 19 to distribute cheques to the needy.
Two cheques of Rs. One lakh each were given to Deepak Karyana Store, Old University lane and Jamwal Tyres Retrading, Panjtirthi, Jammu who were victims of accidental fire and were badly affected. The amount was paid from the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund on the recommendation of MLA, Jammu east Yogesh Sawheny.
Over two dozen widows and old age pensioners were benefited under a Social Welfare, Schemes, forms for which were submitted by Sawhney. The cheques were distributed by Mayor Narinder Singh, Jammu Municipal Corporation along with Lalita Sharma, Corporator, and Ward No. 19.
While addressing the beneficiaries mayor said that the coalition government of the state headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad is committed to serve the poor and needy and no stone will be left un-turned to up-lift the helpless persons.
A number of prominent Congress Workers were also present on this occasion
