| LMD imposes fine of Rs.27050 to 43 traders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

Intensifying the campaign against erring traders, the
Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Department (LMD), Udhampur on the instructions of Deputy
Commissioner, Udhampur, has realized a composition money of Rs.27050 from 43 defaulting traders
during the month of July,2006.
During the course of inspection more than one hundred trading establishments using weights
and measures and selling packaged goods were inspected by the Udhampur unit of the department. Out
of which 23 erring traders were booked under various provisions of Weights and Measures Laws and
Rules.
A stamping fee of Rs.16301 was collected after standardizing weights and measures used by
the traders. The department has warned the traders to use only legal weights and measure and sell only
standard packages.
