REASI, MAY, 10 To make aware the local shopkeepers of Reasi and adjoining areas about the importance of “Value Added Tax” (VAT), the department of Commercial Tax, Jammu organized a workshop on VAT here today. Threadbare discussion was held during the workshop with regard to Value Added Tax and the local traders also got replies to their various quarries. Additional Commissioner, Mr. Mahindroo while interacting with the traders threw light in detail on tax returns and exhorted upon the traders to submit their tax returns with sincerity truth so that the economy of the state would be suffer. He hoped that all traders of Reasi and its adjoining areas would cooperate with the Department in its endeavour. The dealers whose gross annual turn over is upto Rs 7.50 lakh have no tax liabilities under VAT and has not to seek any registration, he added. Additional Commissioner, Commercial Tax (Adm), Mr. R.K. Koul, Additional Commissioner, Commercial Tax (Planning), Mr. R.K. Mahindroo, Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Tax (Recovery), Mr. B. Saraf, C.T.O. Circle A and C, Jammu, C.T.O I & II, Udhampur, President Beopar Mandal, Reasi, Mr. Jodh Singh and Secretary Mr. Om Parkash Sharma were also present in the meeting.
