Khalsa Club wins by eight wickets

JAMMU | May 10:
Khalsa Cricket Club beat Bahu Fort XI by eight wickets in the ongoing 4th Bodh Raj Bali Memorial Cricket Tournament being played at GGM Science College front ground here.
Bahu Fort won the toss and decided to bat first. They managed 88 runs all out in the 20 overs game. Rahul scored 16 runs in 15 deliveries. Monu, Chotu and Vinod also played the knock of 10 runs each. 18 runs went as extras.
For Khalsa Club, Gagan Singh, Sunil and Jaspal clinched three wickets each. Puma picked one wicket.
Khalsa club chased the target of 87 runs in the 11th over by losing only two wickets. Shammy played the knock of 40 runs in quick succession by hitting four boundaries and two sixes in just 22 deliveries. Jassi contributed 22 runs in 13 balls and hits one boundary and two sixes. Riky made 13 runs and smashed two fours.
Vinod and Raju were the wicket taker for Bahu Fort.
Sohail Kazmi, Gen Sec, Press Club was the chief guest in the match. Other prominent present in the match were Rattan Lal Gupta, Sham Mehra, Pardeep Bali, Bhupinder Bhasin, Vinod Bhalla, Bimla Luthra, Sushma Sawhney, Rita Gupta, Rahul Bali, Paramjeet Singh and Rajinder Arora.
Meanwhile, Monu of Bahu Fort was seriously injured in the second inning of the match while wicket keeping. He was struck by the ball below left eye and ball put the cut mark on the face. The bleeding started from the nose as well as from the cut. After treated by the doctors in the emergency ward at GMC, he was advised to take rest. While talking to Early Times, Monu said that no body from the organizing body even tried to make contact with him to know about the injury and condition. There were no person from the organizers accompanied him to the hospital, he disclosed.
