Ganderbal, Oct 3:Scores of patients and their attendants faced a great inconvenience Friday after doctors and para-medical staff of Trauma Hospital, Kangan, in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, went on a strike, demanding the arrest of a man who, according to them, allegedly misbehaved with a lady doctor. Quoting doctors, reports said that Javid Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Majid of Gunchi Mohalla, Akhal Kangan, allegedly misbehaved with a lady doctor when she reportedly showed some "reluctance" in treating his ailing wife. A doctor, who was part of the protest, said it had become a routine matter for attendants to assault and manhandle the medical staff in the hospital. The protesting staff demanded immediate arrest of the man. Reports said that due to the strike and protest staged by the medical staff, patients faced a lot of inconvenience. Attendants alleged that not a single doctor attended the ailing patients for hours. Medical Superintendent of Trauma Hospital, Dr Qazi Javid said they had already lodged an FIR against the culprit and police had assured swift action against him. The medical staff had called off strike and the hospital was functioning normally now, he added. A police said they had registered an FIR under section 353 of RPC against the accused who had been arrested
