Kathua, Oct 3: NABARD organized "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" at village Kandharnoo in Billawar to sensitize & create awareness among children, villagers, women about cleanliness and hygiene. Aman Kalsotra, DDM, NABARD, Kathua, K K Bharadwaj, President, KYASC club, Sarpanch, panches and villagers of village Kandharnoo participated. On this occassion, DDM, NABARD informed the m about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. "The cleanliness is not about cleaning own house but cleanliness starts with myself, my family, my locality, my village and my work place", he said and emphasized that if the mohallas and villages are clean, the people are vigilant, then the country becomes automatically clean. K K Bharadwaj, while talking to the villagers emphasized that cleanliness is the way of life. The cleanliness directly impacts the health of individual and society. He also asked them to open accounts under "Jan Dhan Yojana", where the account holders will be provided RUPAY debit card, overdraft facility and insurance cover. During the interaction villagers desired that the WSS at Kandharnoo be completed on priority, as piped water is not available in the village. Swachhta Pledge was also administered to the villagers and they pledged to devote 100 hours per year for voluntary cleanliness. |
