Jammu, Oct 3: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Er Abdul Gani Kohli today joined Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of party state president Jugal Kishore Sharma and other senior leaders.
According to press release, Kohli has a vast experience in politics and played an important role in completing several civic projects while serving as Civil Engineer in J&K government.
Large number of people accompanied Kohli who has a large following in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and has worked for the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden members of society.
He was welcomed by the BJP state president Jugal Kishore Sharma and other leaders who termed his entry in the party as great event because of Kohli's vast experience in public life.
Speaking on the occasion, Kohli said that BJP is the party of the masses and the recent Lok Sabha elections have proved that it is the party of the masses.
Others who were present on the occasion include, Dr Mohammad Azam, Nirmala Devi, Kuldeep Raj Sharma, Junaid Choudhary, Capt. Arvind Sharma, Sarpanch Farooq Ahmed and other. |
