| Speaker inaugurates Computer Lab in Khour | | | JAMMU, MAY 11 To provide computer education to border belt students, Speaker Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand today inaugurated Computer Lab at Government High School Naryana in Khour block about 55 kilometer away from here this afternoon. The K C Public School Akhnoor Road Jammu donated 12 computers with all equipments to the school. Joint Director School Education Mr. A. K. Raina, Chief Education Officer, Mr. Hem Raj Debey, Vice Chairman, Director and Principal of K. C. Public School Mr. Raju Choudhary, Mrs. Arti Chudhary, Mr. Jorawar Singh and other senior officers of PDD, RDD, PHE, Education, prominent citizens, staff members, parents were also present. After inaugurating, Speaker said that the present government is taking keen interest in computer sector and upgrading the standard of the schools besides opening of new Computer Lab in rural as well as far-off areas of the state. He said that the coalition government is making concerted efforts to open new schools and provide quality education to the children at their doorsteps. He asked the parents to send their wards in the institutions so that they become a good citizen of the country. He said that centre and state government launched various schemes for the benefit of poor and down trodden family’s children which include Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, computer education, mid-day meal and free tuition. He said that free books and uniforms are being provided upto primary level in government run schools. He said that the children are the builders of the nation and it is the duty of the parents and teacher fraternity to educate them so that they compete all the national and international level competitions. Speaker asked K C Public school authorities to open one more branch in Khour block so that the rural as well as border belt children have quality education as compared to town and city schools. Principal of the K C Public School Mr. Jorawar Singh in his welcome address said that the school adopted the Government High School Naryana in the year 2005 and provide free computer education as well as cultural activities to the children. He said that the institution bears all the expenditure including transport and tuition charges incurred on to impart training to the children of the school. On the occasion, the students of both the schools presented colourful cultural programme in the sprawling premises of Government High School Naryana which was highly appreciated by the audience. Later, the Speaker visited Naiwala and Gigrial villages of the Khour block and inspected de-mined areas.
