| Rs.1.61 cr. plan approved for Poonch | | |
POONCH, MAY 11
District Development Commissioner Poonch, Mr J.S Pachnanda visited Horticulture Complex at Poonch here today in connection with District Co-ordination Committee meeting of Horticulture Technology Mission (MM-II) for the year 2007-2008.
During the meeting, the plan worth Rs 161.89 lakh for 2007-2008 was approved against Rs 125.75 lakh for 2006-2007. One lakh four thousand plants of different kind (Walnut, Apple, Plum, Peach and Citrus plants etc) will be planted in the distict during the year 2007-2008 covering an area of 650 hectares, the meeting was informed.
Earlier, the DDC inspected Fruit Nursery, Poonch and had a close interaction with the orchardists. He also distributed cheques to 15 beneficiaries of Poonch, Lassana and Chandak zones who constructed water tanks in their orchards during the year 2006-2007.
