Tarigami for amnesty to youth who cross LoC

Srinagar, May 11
State Secretary CPI (M) and MLA Kulgam Mr. M.Y. Tarigami today stressed upon central leadership both in Government and opposition to have a broader consensus for providing amnesty to those Kashmiri youth, who crossed LoC for whatever reason, to facilitate them lead peaceful and dignified life. He said this would be major CBM for Kashmiris towards bringing back peace and normalcy in the State.
Mr. Tarigami was addressing a big public gathering at Nihama Kulgam. He said that the youth who crossed LoC are now eagerly waiting for amnesty as they have realized their mistake. “Our party has taken this issue seriously in all the three Round Table Conference (RTC) held in past and time has come to act on this issue now”, he said and added that great number of families are directly connected with this humanitarian issue.
Mr. Tarigami said that much blood shed has taken place and people have suffered a lot. “We want to make Kashmir as a bridge of friendship between India and Pakistan”, he added. He said the people of J&K will be the biggest beneficiaries of peace between the two countries.
Referring the disappearance cases, Mr. Tarigami demanded for constituting a credible mechanism relating to this aspect. He lauded the role of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad by taking action against to those involved in fake encounters. He said that now people have trust in government machinery.
Mr. Tarigami urged the government to take action to rehabilitate widows, orphans and other victims of violence on priority as their conditions is pathetic and miserable. He said this issue was also considered in RTC and need of the hour is to implement it at the grass root level.
On the occasion, Mr. O.N. Trisal appealed the administration to provide basic amenities to the rural people particularly power, drinking water and medicare. He also demanded upgradation and repair of rural links. He also stressed for creation of infrastructure in newly created administrative units.
Mr. Abdul Hamid Wani in his speech highlighted the problems of peasants.
