Court grants bail to employee caught red-handed

JAMMU, MAY 12
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Mr. Kartar Singh, today granted bail to one Rakesh Kumar Lakhnotra working in Excise Department and presently posted in Kathua, who was caught red-handed while accepting bribe by the VOJ on May 7 last.
Court called the report from the VOJ in which it has been reported that the applicant was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant in order to release the pensionery benefits. The bail application has been resisted by the Sr. Prosecuting Officer appearing for the VOJ.
Court after perusing the Vigilance report revealed that nothing is to be recovered from the applicant and the investigation is almost complete in the case except certain formalities. There is no ground to refuse bail to the appellant and he is admitted to bail if he furnish bail bond and personal bond in the amount of Rs 10,000 each with the direction that he will attend the investigation as and when required by the IO
