| Wani joins PDP | | |
Srinagar , May 12
Ghulam Mohi-u-Din Wani of Wachi Pulwama today resigned from the post of Branch Manager, Central Cooperative Bank, Pulwama and joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mr Wani is the younger brother of slain Congress leader Ghulam Qadir Wani alias Gulshan Qadiri of Wachi who was assassinated by the militants in early nineties when the militancy erupted in the State.
Ghulam Mohi-u-Din Wani announced his decision to join the PDP in presence of PDP President Ms. Mehbooba Mufti here today. PDP district president for Pulwama and Minister of State for R&B Mr. Muhammad Khalil Band and PDP Political Secretary Mr. Mansoor Hussain were also present on the occasion.
Mr. Wani has been engaged in social work in the area and is known for his contribution towards the social and economic development of this deprived area. He expressed his resolve to work for the PDP, which, he said has represented the concerns and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir
