Locals protest against Custodian Depart.

Locals presently putting up in evacuee properties (EP) Local Custodian of ward no 5 under the leadership of Corporator Rajesh Gupta staged a protest demonstration against the custodian department for not granting ownership rights to those living in custodian house since 50 years. The custodian also torched the effigy of custodial department in support of their demand.
Holding placards and banner highlighting their demand of property right they rallied out from ward no 5 and proceed from main bazaar of city and culminated at Shaheedi Chowk where they bunt the effigy of concerning department.
Speaking in a protest demonstration, Rajesh Gupta Corporator said that custodial who lived in custodial house from last 50 years keeping and maintaining the house from long time have genuine and lawful right to become" the owner of the house.
Gupta underlined that even the Supreme Court made a statement that true owner of house cannot restore again and custodial have complete legal right to take ownership on custodial house. He said after SC statement neither govt. nor custodial department take any sort of step to provide ownership to custodians since one year as restoration of custodial is clearly mentioned in 2002 manifesto of coalition govt.
He alleged. that govt. passed Roshni act for the farmers and tillers but land mafia take benefit from act but no such policy or act have not be granted by the govt for the' custodial to trim down their problems.
He also appealed govt. to mitigate the problems of the custodian by providing ownership 'and property of custodial houses as soon as possible.
