| All party meeting not a failure: Azad | | | Jammu, May 13 Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today expressed optimism about the outcome of all party meeting held in Srinagar on Saturday. Expressing his displeasure over the media reports terming the meeting a total failure, Azad said that the constitution of two committees was a unanimous decision of representatives from all the political parties. "It is only the media which has decided to term the meeting as a failure but it is not so", Azad told reporters on the sidelines of Jammu University's annual convocation, here today, adding, "we have constituted the committees, which will submit reports within ten days", The all party- meet was convened by the Chief Minister to bring consensus among the political parties on some important issues pertaining to Pakistani refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971 and increase in the number of seats in state assembly. However, the meeting is said to have created a fresh controversy. Ruling PDP and the main opposition NC have clarified that they would oppose any move to give citizenship rights to the refugees under the permanent residents' rules of the state.
