| AJKAC alleges sycophancy in ISM | | |
Jammu May 15 All Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic Congress (AJKAC) Jammu chapter today flayed the SRO 379 describing it not only ill conceived but also against the aspirations and larger interests of the ISM medicos fraternity. AJKAC asked both the chief minister and the health minister to look into this matter and also warned to amend it otherwise SRO stands being challenged in Court of Law. Addressing a press conference here today, the AJKAC president Dr T R Gupta said, “this SRO needs to be replaced with suitable amendments otherwise the ISM medicos will be left no option except to go into the Court of Law to seek justice for the future of serving ISM medicos.’ At the same time Dr Raina, reiterated the long pending demand of the bifurcation of the ISM Directorate (J&K) demanded Directorate (Ayuvedic) at Jammu being the respective methodology of the medicines practiced more popularly in Jammu y whereas the Unani is popular in the Kashmir valley. Speakers mentioned that division wise segregation of dispensaries on medical streams is 170 in Kashmir region with 149 Unani and only 21 of Ayurvedic whereas there are 219 dispensaries of Ayurvedic and only 28 of Unani stream thus Jammu has its string case of having a separate Directorate (Ayurvedic) at Jammu. “This would not only save many ISM (ayuvedic) doctors from facing problems during the Durbar Move in the absence of the director concerned and secondly the both departments would run smoothly by the bifurcation of the department, speakers stressed. Referring to the a question speakers blamed the directorate not functioning properly and added that it has failed miserably to create congenial atmosphere in the department. They also pointed out sycophancy has become an order of the day and self seekers, sycophants are having joy rides. Besides president AJKAC Dr T R Gupta others who were present in this press conference included Dr Shiv Dutt Sharma vice president AJAC, Dr H N Patwari organizing secretary All India Ayurvedic Congress and Dr Shrinivas Gupta Member Working Committee AJKAC.
